Volunteers are the life blood of foodbanks. Your skills could be just what we need.

Volunteers are the driving force behind foodbanks. There are thousands of volunteers across the UK, helping The Trussell Trust Foodbank Network get emergency food to people in crisis. We want you to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference to the life of someone in crisis.

We are currently recruiting volunteers for the following roles:

 – Drivers

We need drivers to help deliver food parcels to our local foodbank centres and pick up food donations from supermarkets and different destinations around Redbridge . If you are over 25, have been driving for over a year and have no points on your licence then please apply.

 

Food bank centre volunteer – All Saints Goodmayes

As a Food bank centre volunteer, you will play a vital role giving direct support to people who use food banks, meeting and greeting people coming into the food bank, making them feel comfortable and providing further signposting support where appropriate. You will also you help process food donations, sorting items, ensuring they are in date, minimising wastage and packing food ready for distribution to clients or other local organisations.

 

Food bank centre volunteer – Jubilee Church

As a Food bank centre volunteer, you will play a vital role giving direct support to people who use food banks, meeting and greeting people coming into the food bank, making them feel comfortable and providing further signposting support where appropriate. You will also you help process food donations, sorting items, ensuring they are in date, minimising wastage and packing food ready for distribution to clients or other local organisations.

 

Food bank centre team leader

As a food bank centre team leader you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of the food bank centre, supporting volunteers, coordinating activities and being the main point of contact for and queries for the duration of the session.

 

– Volunteer Social media coordinator

By volunteering as a Social media coordinator, you will help to promote the work of the food bank and encourage donations through social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. As a voice for change in your community, you can make a real difference to people’s lives providing vital help and support in your local community.
