Volunteer

Volunteers are the life blood and driving force behind foodbanks. Your skills could be just what we need.

There are thousands of volunteers across the UK, helping The Trussell Trust Foodbank Network get emergency food to people in crisis. We want you to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference in the life of someone in crisis.

We are currently recruiting for the following roles:

Foodbank Centre Team Leader

As a Foodbank Centre team leader, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of the Foodbank Centre, supporting volunteers, coordinating activities and being the main point of contact for the duration of the session.

Drivers

We need drivers to help deliver food parcels to our local Foodbank Centres and pick up food donations from supermarkets and different destinations around Redbridge. If you are over 25, have been driving for over a year and have no points on your licence then please apply.

Foodbank Warehouse Team Leader

As a Warehouse Team Leader you’ll play a key role in ensuring the warehouse runs smoothly and waste is kept to a minimum. With your strong organisational and people skills you’ll confidently lead a team of volunteers to manage stock levels and complete regular stock audits.

Warehouse assistant

As a warehouse volunteer, you will play a vital role in giving direct support to people who use food banks by processing food donations, sorting items, minimising wastage and packing food ready for distribution to clients or other local organisations.

Foodbank centre helper

We are recruiting for volunteers to help us at our Foodbank centres – greeting clients, checking food vouchers, and preparing food parcels. A variety of times and days are available.
